SIW WINS SUMMARY JUDGMENT, INCLUDING 45% INTEREST PER YEAR
Dan Wake obtained summary judgment for nearly $500,000 for his client, the holder of a promissory note, in a case that would have been fairly routine but for one point. The note provided for post-default interest at "the legal maximum interest rate." The Denver District Court held, and many people may be surprised to learn, that the statutory legal, maximum interest rate in non-consumer transactions in Colorado is a hefty 45%. That's good money if you can get it.
